Terms of Service

The agreement between you and IQLakes — what the service does, what it deliberately does not promise, and where each of us stands if something goes wrong.

Last updated 3 September 2026

1. This agreement

These terms are the agreement between you and Unilakes Technologies ("IQLakes", "we", "us") for your use of the IQLakes website and application. By creating an account or using the service, you accept them.

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data and forms part of this agreement.

2. Who can use IQLakes

You must be at least 16 to hold an account, and you must be able to enter a binding contract where you live. If you use IQLakes for an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to accept these terms on its behalf.

3. What the service is

IQLakes is a tool for keeping track of your own work, learning, records and commitments. It helps you organise what you enter, and reminds you about dates you have recorded.

It is not a system of record, a backup service, a document vault, or a professional adviser. Keep your own copies of anything that matters, and keep the original documents themselves somewhere you control.

4. Your account

You are responsible for what happens under your account, and for keeping your sign-in details to yourself. Tell us promptly at hello@iqlakes.com if you think someone else has access.

Give us accurate account information and keep it current — we use your email address to reach you about the service.

5. Your content stays yours

You own everything you put into IQLakes. We claim no ownership of it.

You give us only the permission we need to run the service for you: to store your content, process it, display it back to you, and send it to the providers listed in our Privacy Policy where a feature you use requires it. That permission ends when you delete the content or close your account.

You are responsible for having the right to store what you store — including any details you record about other people.

6. Acceptable use

Do not use IQLakes to:

  • Break the law, or help anyone else break it.
  • Store or share material you have no right to, or that infringes someone else's rights.
  • Attempt to reach another account's data, or probe, scan or test our systems without written permission.
  • Interfere with the service — overwhelming it, circumventing limits, or scraping it at scale.
  • Resell the service, or use it to build a competing product.

Automated access is fine through the interfaces we provide, within any published limits.

7. AI features

Some features generate content: study plans, flashcards, revision sheets, syllabus imports, suggestions about what to do next, difficulty and progress estimates.

AI output can be confidently wrong. It may misread a date, invent a detail, or misjudge what matters. It is a draft for you to check, never a source of truth — and never professional advice.

In particular, nothing IQLakes produces is legal, immigration, tax, financial, medical or academic advice. Decisions about a visa, a document renewal, a payment or an exam are yours, and you should verify them against the issuing authority or a qualified professional.

AI features may be limited, changed or withdrawn, and may be subject to usage caps.

8. Reminders and dates — please read

IQLakes can remind you about expiry dates, due dates and renewals, including for passports, visas, licences and bills.

These reminders are a convenience, not a guarantee. A notification or email can fail to send or arrive for many reasons — a delivery problem, an outage, a filter, a wrong or changed setting, a date entered incorrectly, or a device that was off.

You remain solely responsible for meeting your own deadlines and renewing your own documents. Do not rely on IQLakes as your only safeguard against missing something that carries a legal or financial consequence.

9. Availability and changes

IQLakes is offered on an "as available" basis. We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of it, and we will give reasonable notice of a material change where we can.

The service is currently free while in beta. If we introduce paid plans, we will tell you before any charge applies, and you will never be billed without agreeing first.

10. Our intellectual property

The IQLakes software, design, name and branding belong to us. These terms give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service; they transfer no ownership and grant no licence to our brand.

11. Ending this agreement

You can stop using IQLakes and delete your account at any time. Deletion is handled as set out in our Privacy Policy.

We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, or where we must to comply with the law. Except where a serious breach or a legal requirement makes it impossible, we will give you notice and a chance to export your data first.

12. Disclaimers

To the fullest extent the law allows, IQLakes is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any reminder will be delivered.

13. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, nor for lost profits, lost data, or a missed deadline, renewal or payment.

Our total liability arising out of or relating to the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or USD 100.

Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

14. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify us against claims, losses and reasonable costs arising from your misuse of the service, your breach of these terms, or content you stored that you had no right to store.

15. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Emirate of Dubai and the applicable federal laws of the United Arab Emirates, and the courts of Dubai have exclusive jurisdiction — except that if you are a consumer, you keep the benefit of any mandatory protections and courts available to you where you live.

16. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the current version, and we will tell you in the app or by email before a material change takes effect. Continuing to use IQLakes after that means you accept the updated terms.
